Namely, if at any time in someone’s life (at birth or later), a disease, injury or disability occurs and prevents a person from functioning effectively and independently in one or more occupational areas, occupational therapy provides intervention that helps restoring functions, maintaining the level of functioning, and / or prevents the expected deficits.
